Open-Hearth Cooking at Hickory Ridge

Two volunteers at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park visited our Hickory Ridge Museum for a cooking lesson with Mary Bohlen, who is an open-hearth cooking expert.  Jolene volunteers at the park's Oconaluskee Visitor Center and Mary volunteers at the Mountain Farm Museum and the visitor center.  They hope to become proficient enough to start cooking there.  Everyone had a great time and the end result was great food: cornbread, peach pie, sausage and apples, and blueberry cobbler!
